Have 10 minutes of special play time with your child every day

Why it Matters

  • Play is not just for children - it is important for adults to play too.

  • Playing with your child will help him or her in many important ways, including:

    • Having less behavior problems

    • Building language skills

    • Learning shapes, sizes, numbers and colors

    • Building a strong and positive parent-child relationship

  • Playing with your child when he or she is young can help him or her later in school.

  • Let your child pick what you play and how you play it.  Avoid giving directions, saying negative comments or asking lots of questions.

  • Have fun playing with your child!
