Sit and share at least one meal with your child every day

Why it Matters

  • Having regular meals with your child is time to reconnect.

  • Mealtimes are great for talking!  Talking during meals helps your child learn words and language skills.

  • During meals, your child can see how to share and use good manners.

  • Children that have regular meals with their family are more engaged in school and have less social problems.

  • Tips for success meals:

    • Turn off the TV

    • Limit snacks before meals

    • Get your child involved in picking healthy foods and preparing meals.

  • Meals do not need to take a lot of time - time together is the secret ingredient.
